On September 28, 2018, the 4th Annual Healthcare Summit & Precious Daughters of India Awards was organised by National Health Mission, Department of Medical, Health & Family welfare, Government of Rajasthan in Jaipur. The event focused on highlighting the importance of Saving the Girl Child & honouring outstanding women as Daughters of India.

Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, CMD, Biocon was felicitated with the Precious Daughters of India Award. Mr. Ravindra Kumar Jain, Associate Regional Business Manager, Branded Formulations India, received the award on her behalf.

Ms. Shaw was unable to receive this award in person due to her overseas travel, however in a pre-recorded message she thanked the organizers for bestowing this honour on her.

In her acceptance message she said, “I am indeed both humbled & honoured to receive this prestigious Precious Daughters of India Award. I truly believe in #WomenPower and believe that gender cannot limit the capabilities of an individual. I particularly want to call out for Mr. Naveen Jain for steering this very important initiative of ‘Saving the Girl Child – Daughters are precious’, empowering the girl child and really focusing on this whole theme of precious daughters of India. I would like to congratulate Govt. of Rajasthan for this great initiative of empowering the women in the state, in our country, and I really believe as a woman that this is a very important area for the nation to focus on. Women are the most important factor in our country, in our economic development and empowering women is going to make us a much greater nation.”

The award was given during 4th Annual Healthcare Summit, Rajasthan & Precious Daughters of India Awards organized by Government of Rajasthan along with Elets Technomedia and eHealth Magazine. Rajasthan has become a hub of innovation like Tele-medicine, Mobile Dental Van, lAP camp monitoring for MMU/MMV and RBSK MIS Software. The state is making remarkable efforts in executing the PCPNDT Act and taking exemplary initiatives towards Non Communicable Diseases and Community Healthcare.

The objective of Healthcare Summit Rajasthan was to promote Healthcare Ecosystem towards fostering partnership and leveraging innovations and Technology to transform healthcare delivery in Rajasthan. The summit involved key stakeholders working to ensure healthcare to the last mile of Rajasthan and across the nation.

It was indeed a moment of immense pride for all at Biocon to have their CMD honoured at this prestigious forum.
